The princess has left the building!

Hi friends!  I am so sorry that it has been quiet over here.  I appreciate all of you who hang out at my blog.  The princess has moved over to another castle and she would be most grateful if you would join her at   It was time for me to put on my “big girl panties” (pun intended) and help run the show behind the scenes.  My webmaster is AMAZING and has been a huge help to me, and it’s time I take over some of the heartburn.  Hence, the change of address.

Thank you for your continued support, and I hope you will come on over!

Setting the Tone with a Great Cover

I want to thank the lovey, talented and fabulously named Jenna Anderson for stopping by Princess With A Pen to share her thoughts on book covers.

Jenna Anderson

Jenna was so kind to let me rule her internet kingdom yesterday, and it is sincerely my honor to crown her “Princess Jenna” today.  I love connecting, collaborating, and laughing with other authors.  Jenna and I definitely bond over many things, including the fact we both speak “teenager.”  We are not fluent, but we have each other to lean on.   So without further introduction, here she is!

Thanks so much for having me on your blog. It’s always great to hang out with other authors and their friends.

I have to say, I love the cover of your book. Love, love. It’s amazingly eye catching and perfect. I feel this is so important when trying to communicate a vibe to readers.

I tortured the cover artist who worked on Off Leash. He is a great talent and drew the images himself. I wanted to add all sorts of bells and whistles and he reminded me that simple is sometimes best. The result went beyond my expectations. Within a few seconds the reader can catch the tone of the story and I love that.

Off Leash

He also created the cover for Healing Touch, my first release. Talk about simple! I wouldn’t change a thing. It’s perfect.

Healing Touch

All of my fiction is sweet, fun, and light. I try my best to convey those feelings with my cover art. In the near future I will be venturing into young adult titles as well as paranormal. No matter what I write, expect laughs and an, “Awwwww” ending.

Thanks again for having me. I look forward to seeing more of your work and covers in the future, Jen. If readers want to find me on the web they can read about my titles here –

I also have a book blog called The Book Snoop:

Jenna, thank you so much!  Come back anytime and visit.

Trumpets please! The Princess with a Pen is looking for a BFF book club built for two!

How’s THIS grab you for a first blog post huh?  This is the season to be thankful for turkey, gluten free stuffing (and baby I make it from scratch-YUM!) and all of the blessings in our lives.  I am so humbled by how my memoir has been received and embraced this year, that I am thanking you by having a giveaway.  I shared with readers in The Day I Wore My Panties Inside Out about many of my friends, especially my BFF Nancy.  She is a peach I tell ya, and I am just the luckiest gal on earth to know her.  I know you have friends like that in your life as well.  I want you to laugh together and read my book over some coffee, hot chocolate, pick your poison!  Your very own little BFF Bookclub!  I am giving away two copies of my memoir, to one lucky person, and a $10 gift card to “get your caffeine on” at Starbucks.  Time is so precious and fleeting, and I want you to take time out of your day to spend it with your BFF.

How can you win?  Thanks for asking!

  1. Suggest friends “like” my author page on Facebook (Author Jen Tucker) and please let me know if you sent them when they “like” my page.
  2. Follow me on Twitter
  3. Follow my blog at
  4. Comment below on this post about your BFF; tell me about him/her and the craziest thing you have done together that you would actually want posted on the internet.  I do not want to ruin anyone’s political career aspirations!
  5. If you do not want to “out” your friends, just tell me about the biggest blessing in your life that knocked your socks off.  Get creative!
  6. Repost this contest
  7. Please list below in the comments which of these you have done, and you will be entered an additional time for each thing.

Now for the stinking rules!  Blah!  If you are not allowed to participate because of state law, then please do not.  Open to the US and Canada.  Contest ends DECEMBER 2, 2011 at noon EST, and books will be mailed the following Monday, DECEMBER 5, 2011 to you!  I will post winners on FB and Twitter as well as this site.  If you already own my book, I am happy to sign your copy to whomever you wish.  When I announce winners, please message me on Facebook with your mailing address within 24 hours.  If I do not hear from you, then I will draw another name.   The winner will be chosen by random drawing.

Good luck!  Gobble, gobble!
